Karma Yoga
Yoga Passage Members Gary Hagerty and Sherri McDonald visited the sponsored family in India in December 2004. |
Karma yoga is held every Sunday at 1pm with a teacher who volunteers his or her time. The style sometimes varies with the teacher. It is open to everyone, member or non-member with a suggested donation of $10-$2 and an optional canned or dry food donation to the Calgary Food Bank.
The Karma class proceeds generally funds our on going charity of One International founded by Tania Splichen of Edmonton. It supports our sponsorship of eight children in India.
As special occasions arise additional donations are directed locally and internationally. Over the last year, thousands of dollars were given to the International Red Cross Tsunami Relief Fund and to Calgary Street Teams. A thousand dollars was directed to two yoga teachers, one very ill teacher in Alberta and one seriously injured in BC.
This is the real yoga, putting yoga into action in our daily lives.
Bless you all.
